In the beginning . . .

I was explaining to Sam, 10, how one key in memorization is finding ways to connect new concepts with old, using humor, mnemonics etc. 

Quickly grasping the idea, he pondered out loud, "So everything started with one thought.  I wonder what that was."

Yes Roy, Sam's my son. And Patrick, bizarre or random profundity does seem to run in the family.

Reminds me though--cheese is really expensive here. Could you send some?
