Just the beginning

Our family went to Buriram Sunday-Tuesday, over the Thai Songran holiday.  At The Well Center 4, Prang blew us away yet one more time with her servant heart.  This time she and her team had put together an event to bless senior adults in her village.  It was completely the team's own initiative and expense--nothing came from The Well's budget.  The Center 4 team served a meal, gave a short presentation about the love of Jesus, gave me an opportunity to talk about that topic as well, then gave each honored guest a blessing with water in the Songkran tradition, a shirt or vest that the team had sewn, and a small cash gift.

This is what we started The Well for, to see women bringing Jesus to their communities.  It made me feel like our 3 1/2 years so far in Thailand were just an introduction, that the real thing is just beginning.

Cool grandma
As cool as Michaela is, she's no match for this grandma modeling her new vest.

Jim,

We have been keeping up with all things the Well since this summer through your blog. This post about what God is doing through Prang and Michaela is awesome! Sarom and I are praying for all of you. Please tell Prang and Michaela we said, "Hello!" and that we miss seeing them. Congrats on the Thai sermon, by the way.

P.S. Sarom and I are getting married in June.

Dude! I am so wanting to go back to Thailand...

I'm happy that you guys got a chance to leave the city and let Judy see more of the country.

Hope you didn't get too wet at Songkran.

Tell Prang & Michaela I said "Hi"

Only 3 1/2 years and you managed to preach in Thai! Awesome! I know an American who was happy to do it after 5 years. And I know a Filipino who needed 8 years to learn Thai. But in six months he could present the gospel in Hmong!

I'm glad to see pictures of a Christianized Songan. I think I will have a different understanding of our Easter and Christmas now.

Thanks Jim

Thanks Jim. I was really hoping that you would write about this after hearing about it from Michaela. She and Prang were both so excited about it, especially since the idea came from the other women and not from either of them! Clear proof that the spirit is growing in the women working at Center 4.

Glad you guys got to spend some time out in Buriram. I hope it was a good time to de-stress a bit and to see, like you said, the bigger picture of what is going on in Thailand. Thanks for your persistence!

PS - How about that little Michaela? She's quite the catch, huh!
